St Lukes Cranham with Moor Lane Church

Midweek - Acorn

Acorn Logo

Acorn Club is for mothers, fathers or grandparents and other carers and their pre-school aged children.

It meets every Thursday morning during school term time at Moor Lane Church from 10am to 11.30am.

We currently have 45 adults on our register. Because of its popularity and because we do have to restrict numbers, we have a waiting list of those who would like to join us. We see Acorn Club as an outreach by this church, and so give preference to those who live in the Cranham area.

Biscuit time

We alternate weekly between a coffee morning and an activity morning. On Coffee mornings, you can enjoy a chat whilst the children play. During an Activity morning, the children have the opportunity to make a craft which relates to the story they will be told during that morning. These stories are always Bible based and many of the crafts have a Christian message printed on them. The Mums are encouraged to help with the craft - and they are sometimes keener to make the craft than their child is!

Acorn Kitchen Corner

The Acorn team consists of Christian Mums, Dads and Grandparents.

Each week the children and parents/carers are led in a time of singing, with actions, of many Christian songs for toddlers - and they know this is followed by "biscuit time"! Then the stampede begins to get into the lobby and crèche room and sit at the little tables for refreshments.

We all know that raising children is wonderful and rewarding, but sometimes can also be worrying, lonely and exhausting.

What's in it for you?

The Acorn Team

Acorn Club is a way for you to have a chat and get to know others in a similar situation as you. To share the joys and pains, to laugh or cry and if you'd like, someone to pray with you about anything worrying you.

What's in it for the kids?

Acorn Club is fun, lots of toys, lots of friends, stories, things to make, singing and dancing and learning about God and who Jesus is!
